BIKING
The going to the sun road is a great road to bike. The traffic is limited- and for parts of the year it's even closed off to cars. However... it didn't get its name for nothing. The road has a pretty good incline making it tough to climb, but a breeze to come down.. literally! If you don't want to go all the way to the top, there is a common stop off/break place along the way known as 'the loop'. It also got its name for a reason in that it is a loop! It's a fun road to bike and very scenic along the way. Glacier also offers paved trails from campsites to the nearby 'village' or area. Glacier has many more biking places as well.

BOATING
From kayaking and canoeing to boating, Glacier National Park is the place to be. McDonald lake is a beautiful place to go. This lake, along with all the others, have beautiful views that surrond it making it a peaceful environment to be in. If you feel like doing something a little more exciting than just a lake, but low key enough that it's relaxing, McDonald Creek is the place for you! It has enough of a current to take you down-but it's low key enough you don't have to worry about tipping and eddies everywhere.
HIKING
What is a National Park without hikes? Glacier is full of fun hikes for everyone! From a 2 mile hike to a lake to a two day excursion across mountains GNP is the place for YOU. Most hikes have a 'destination' at the end (ie a lake or a scenic lookout). You can hike up to Granite Chalet and spend the night, or you can take a day hike over to Iceburg lake and throw stones in the lake. You can take a more difficult hike to Ptarmigan Tunnel and look at a gorgeous view at the end the tunnel (a little harder but still doable for children at least 7+). Glacier Park has hiking for everyone!
LODGING
Camping is a very popular and fun activity in the park. Whether back country camping or camping in an RV, there are places available. Camping in the park is a little more difficult, because very few places offer electricity-but that's what makes camping there fun and a real adventure! Back country camping is available, but most places you have to book and getting a spot can sometimes be difficult. If you do get a spot- you'll probably have tons of fun!
If you're willing to spend a little more money, a SUPER fun place to stay is in one of the lodges. If the weather outside is too chilly for camping you can reserve a place in one of the lodges for a unique and truly special stay. With live music, workers wearing traditional outfits, a warm fire, and nightly programs, your stay in Glacier Park is guaranteed to be a blast!
Chalets are also a fun place to stay. You do have to hike to them and they are smaller, but they are quite quaint, and of course, have a great view. They are also a fun place to stay-also containing a fire place to warm up by.
